Brendan Allen submitted Christian Leroy Duncan with a rear-naked choke at 2:46 of the fifth round to win the main event of UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Duncan on Saturday, October 10, at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. The victory was Allen's fourth in a row and earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Main event details

Brendan Allen vs Christian Leroy Duncan was a five-round middleweight headliner. Allen, a Top 5 middleweight, improved to 28-7, while Duncan fell to 15-3. Referee Marc Goddard deducted a point from Duncan for an eye poke in the second round, though the deduction did not affect the outcome because Allen finished the fight.

Goddard later explained the decision on X, as reported by Sherdog. He said he had warned Duncan about outstretched fingers in the first round and again asked him to be careful with his hands before the second, and took action when the poke then occurred. "CLD is a credit to the sport of MMA & an exceptional athlete," Goddard wrote, adding that it is hard to expect a fighter to change years of habit through a short pre-fight conversation.

According to Sherdog, Allen called out former champion Dricus du Plessis after the win. His teammate, former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, wrote on X that Allen had been dealing with a staph infection since the Tuesday of fight week and was on antibiotics.
