UFC rankings after Vegas 123: Tom Nolan jumps to No. 7, Jacobe Smith cracks welterweight Top 15

The UFC updated its Meta rankings on Tuesday, November 3, reflecting the results of UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs Nolan at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on October 31. Tom Nolan jumped five places to No. 7 at lightweight after his third-round TKO of Renato Moicano, while Jacobe Smith entered the welterweight Top 15 at No. 14 following his short-notice shutout of Randy Brown. The Meta list on UFC.com shows the moves; the separate media-panel rankings on the same page still lag the Halloween card.

Nolan into the lightweight Top 10

Nolan finished Moicano by TKO (punches and elbows) at 1:28 of Round 3 in the main event, his first UFC headliner. The Australian rises from No. 12 to No. 7, leaping Benoit Saint Denis (now No. 8, down one) and placing him behind champion Justin Gaethje and contenders Ilia Topuria, Arman Tsarukyan, Charles Oliveira, Max Holloway, Paddy Pimblett and Quillan Salkilld. Moicano, who lost a body-triangle position after a controversial Round 2 standup by referee Dan Miragliotta before the finish, drops six spots from No. 8 to No. 14. Tofiq Musayev and Rafael Fiziev each climb one place to No. 12 and No. 13. Esteban Ribovics holds No. 15.

• 6. Quillan Salkilld
• 7. Tom Nolan (up 5)
• 8. Benoit Saint Denis (down 1)
• 14. Renato Moicano (down 6)

Nolan's six-fight UFC winning streak at lightweight is tied with Tsarukyan and Salkilld for the longest active run in the division, per MMA Junkie's post-event facts.

Jacobe Smith debuts in the welterweight Top 15

Smith beat Brown by unanimous decision (30-26 on all three cards) on two weeks' notice in the co-main event, improving to 14-0 overall and 5-0 in the UFC. He lands at No. 14 as a new ranking (*NR*). Kevin Holland slips one spot to No. 15, and Daniel Rodriguez drops off the Meta chart. Islam Makhachev remains the welterweight champion, with Carlos Prates at No. 1 ahead of Ian Machado Garry, Michael Morales and Jack Della Maddalena.

Smith's five-fight UFC streak at 170 pounds is tied for the second-longest active run in the division behind Michael Morales, according to MMA Junkie.

Women's strawweight and bantamweight ripples

Piera Rodriguez, who beat Talita Alencar by unanimous decision on the Vegas prelims, climbs three places to No. 7 at women's strawweight. Iasmin Lucindo, Alexia Thainara and Loopy Godinez each drop one spot. Amanda Lemos rises one place to No. 14, and Sam Hughes enters at No. 15 (*NR*). Mackenzie Dern is the champion, with Zhang Weili at No. 1.

How the Meta list sits elsewhere

Heavyweight remains Ciryl Gane as champion, Tom Aspinall at No. 1 and Alexander Volkov at No. 2, with Josh Hokit at No. 5 ahead of his UFC 334 title challenge. Light heavyweight keeps Carlos Ulberg as champion and Alex Pereira at No. 1. Middleweight still has Sean Strickland as champion and Khamzat Chimaev at No. 1. Bantamweight and featherweight Meta tops are unchanged at Petr Yan / Merab Dvalishvili and Alexander Volkanovski / Movsar Evloev.

MMA Mania's full Meta copy matches the UFC.com lightweight, welterweight and women's strawweight/bantamweight moves listed above. The media-panel table on UFC.com still showed Tom Nolan outside the Top 10 and Jacobe Smith unranked at the time of writing, so this article uses the Meta rankings.
