The UFC published its updated rankings on Tuesday, October 20, reflecting the results of UFC Edmonton at Rogers Place on October 17. Mike Malott broke into the welterweight top 10, Jasmine Jasudavicius climbed at women's flyweight and debuted in the women's pound-for-pound list, and Chelsea Chandler made the biggest jump of the week at women's bantamweight.

UFC.com now shows two separate lists: the traditional rankings voted by a panel of media members, and the Meta rankings. The numbers below are taken from the official rankings page and the UFC's own rankings graphic posted on X.

Malott into the welterweight top 10

Malott headlined the card and stopped Joaquin Buckley with a knee at 2:32 of the second round, according to the official UFC results. UFC.com notes that it was his fifth straight win, all of them in Canada.

  • Media panel: Malott rises three places to No. 10, Buckley drops two places to No. 12 (tied with Uros Medic).
  • Meta rankings: Malott rises three places to No. 8, Buckley falls four places to No. 12, and Kamaru Usman moves up one spot to No. 11.

Islam Makhachev remains welterweight champion. The media panel has Ian Machado Garry at No. 1 and Carlos Prates at No. 2, while the Meta list has them the other way round. Malott has said he would like to return in January in Toronto, but no opponent or date has been announced.

Jasudavicius moves closer to a title shot

In the co-main event, Jasudavicius beat Erin Blanchfield by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). UFC.com wrote that the Canadian controlled the first two rounds on the mat, and that she has now won seven of her last eight fights.

  • Media panel: Jasudavicius goes up two places to No. 4 at flyweight, and Blanchfield drops one place to No. 5.
  • Meta rankings: Jasudavicius rises three places to No. 3, behind only Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso. Blanchfield falls two places to No. 5.
  • Women's pound-for-pound (media panel): Jasudavicius enters for the first time at No. 12. Blanchfield slips one place to No. 9, while Rose Namajunas (No. 13) and Raquel Pennington (No. 14) each drop one spot.

Natalia Silva is the flyweight champion. Bloody Elbow noted that the UFC returns to Canada for UFC 336 in Toronto in January, which could help Jasudavicius' case for a title fight. Grasso is also seen as a possible challenger. No title fight has been booked.

Chandler's big jump and other changes

Chelsea Chandler submitted Melissa Croden on the Edmonton prelims, MMA Mania reported. On the Meta list, Chandler rises six places to No. 9 at women's bantamweight and Croden falls six places to No. 15. The media panel has Chandler entering at No. 14.

Other changes on the official page:

  • Sam Hughes enters the Meta women's strawweight top 15 at No. 15.
  • Bryce Mitchell returns to the media panel's bantamweight list at No. 15.
  • Tatiana Suarez moves up one place to No. 8 in the women's pound-for-pound list.

The men's pound-for-pound top 10 is unchanged apart from Tom Aspinall moving up one place into a tie with Sean Strickland at No. 7. Islam Makhachev stays No. 1.

The next rankings update is expected after UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, where Alexander Volkanovski defends the featherweight title against No. 1 Movsar Evloev and Petr Yan defends the bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili.
