Grand Prix semi-final settles a styles clash
The pairing was framed as a Grand Prix middleweight semi-final on the BETCITY Fight Nights 144 card. Romanov, a durable Russian veteran, controlled enough of the 15-minute contest to sweep two scorecards and take a clear edge on the third. Magomedov entered as the hotter prospect with no prior professional losses, but he could not force a finish or steal the decision on the night.
AllBoxing and Match TV both listed the same scorecards and confirmed Romanov's path into the Grand Prix final. A finalist opponent and date have not been detailed in those reports.
Sarnavskiy keeps the welterweight belt
In the co-main event, Alexander Sarnavskiy defended the Fight Nights welterweight title with a third-round TKO of Babuli Tsoloev. Sherdog timed the stoppage at 1:56 of round three (knees and punches), with Alexey Petrov as referee. Match TV said the loss was Tsoloev's first as a pro after nine wins and put Sarnavskiy's ledger at 45-9.
Undercard stoppages fill the St. Petersburg card
Sherdog's results board also logged several finishes elsewhere on the show, including Rizvan Abuev's TKO of Grigory Popov after an arm injury at the end of round two, Gairbek Dalgatov's second-round TKO of Lom-Ali Nalgiev, Marat Rakhmanov's first-round arm-triangle submission of Daniil Mikhailov, Ivan Sidorov's third-round TKO of Rostislav Rudenko, and Ruslan Tomskikh's third-round TKO of Islam Nasrudinov. Daler Bakhromov scored a flying-knee knockout of Eradzh Mirzoev, Valery Vishnyakov stopped Dmitriy Yakovlev early, and Magomed Shakhmerzaev submitted Eldar Eldarov with a guillotine in round two. Sergey Yaskovets took a unanimous decision over Alexey Kosarev.
