Fundora's promoter says Jaron Ennis undisputed fight will be '50-50 or nothing'
Sampson Lewkowicz says any undisputed 154-pound fight between Sebastian Fundora and Jaron Ennis must be an equal split, a day before Fundora defends his WBC title against Ermal Hadribeaj.

Sampson Lewkowicz, the promoter of WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora, says a future undisputed fight with Jaron Ennis will only happen on an equal split. "It'll be 50-50 or nothing," Lewkowicz told interviewer Sean Zittel, according to Boxing News 24, which published the comments on Friday, October 16. The remarks come one day before Fundora defends his title against Ermal Hadribeaj in Las Vegas.
'It will not be an easy negotiation'
Lewkowicz admitted the talks would be hard, assuming Fundora beats Hadribeaj first. "It will not be an easy negotiation," he said. Boxing News 24 wrote that he expects Ennis's side to ask for the larger share.
Fundora himself sounded more flexible. "Of course, there's going to be some sacrifices from both sides, but we're going to get it done," he said, according to the same report. "I tell Sampson, 'Hey, I'm going to fight this guy.' Sampson will do it for me."
Boxing News 24 was critical of the demand. It argued that Ennis, who holds more belts and has a strong following in Philadelphia, is the commercial A-side and has little reason to accept parity.
Where the 154-pound picture stands
The four major super welterweight belts are split between three men:
- Jaron Ennis holds the WBA and WBO titles after stopping Xander Zayas in June.
- Josh Kelly holds the IBF title.
- Sebastian Fundora holds the WBC title.
Ennis is expected to face Kelly in a three-belt unification targeted for late January 2027. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said earlier this month that he is already talking to Lewkowicz and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) about the winner facing Fundora next.
"We're also in talks at the moment with [Sampson Lewkowicz] and PBC about the winner fighting Fundora straight off the bat, and looking to contract that almost in the same process," Hearn told Matchroom, as quoted by Boxing 24/7. "Certainly, Boots, all he wants to do is try and become undisputed as quickly as possible."
Fundora has also called for the fight. "Jaron Ennis is the one calling me out, so he'd be the guy I want to face soon," he said, according to boxingnews.com. No fight between the two has been agreed, and no date or venue has been set.
First, Hadribeaj
Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs) must first get past unbeaten Albanian Ermal Hadribeaj (23-0-1, 8 KOs), his WBC mandatory challenger, on Saturday, October 17, at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Both men made weight on Friday: Fundora came in at 152.8 pounds and Hadribeaj at 152.4, both under the 154-pound limit, The Ring reported.
The card airs on DAZN and TNT, with the main card at 8 p.m. ET (03:00 MSK Sunday). Fundora is coming off a sixth-round stoppage of former champion Keith Thurman in March and is a heavy betting favourite.
