Sean O'Malley calls out Gervonta Davis for boxing match, Tank-linked account replies 'Bet, let me make the call'
Sean O'Malley told Bradley Martyn he wants to box Gervonta Davis rather than Ryan Garcia. An X account believed to be Davis' burner answered: 'Bet, let me make the call.'

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has renewed his call for a boxing match with Gervonta "Tank" Davis, and an X account widely believed to belong to Davis has answered with three words: "Bet, let me make the call." O'Malley made the comments on Bradley Martyn's podcast in a clip shared on Tuesday, October 27, and the reply landed a few hours later, at 01:03 UTC on Wednesday, October 28. No fight has been discussed by either camp or by any promoter.
O'Malley: 'Give me Gervonta Davis'
In the clip posted by Happy Punch, O'Malley said he had moved on from his old target, Ryan Garcia. "I was calling out Ryan Garcia two years ago but nah, give me Gervonta Davis, little f*cker," he said, before adding a jab at Davis' legal history: "He's been in jail for beating on his woman, hasn't he?"
Cageside News MMA quoted another part of the same interview, with O'Malley saying: "I'd box Gervonta. Yes, 100%. I would take that fight."
O'Malley has wanted this crossover for years. After winning the UFC title from Aljamain Sterling in August 2023, he told reporters, per MMA Fighting: "I also wouldn't mind knocking out Gervonta Davis... I'm telling you, that fight is going to happen."
The reply
The response came from @MoneyTwofly, which quoted Happy Punch's clip and wrote: "Bet, let me make the call." The account is not verified and does not say who runs it. In September, Bloody Elbow described it as an account "believed to be Davis", and BoxingNews24 called it his burner account. That was when it offered Garcia a rematch at 144 pounds. Davis has not addressed O'Malley on his verified accounts, and nobody on his team has commented. For now this is social-media back-and-forth, not a negotiation.
Where both men stand
Davis (30-0-1) has not boxed since his majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr. in March 2025. NDTV Sports reports that he has no fight booked and that the WBA has moved him to champion in recess. His planned November 2025 exhibition with Jake Paul was cancelled by Most Valuable Promotions days after his ex-girlfriend filed a lawsuit accusing him of battery and other offences, BBC Sport reported. According to the BBC, he was arrested twice in 2020 on domestic battery charges. He also served 44 days in jail in 2023 for breaking the terms of house arrest in a hit-and-run case.
Davis has also been going back and forth with Garcia over a possible rematch. He has offered to go up to 140 and then 144 pounds, while Garcia, the WBC welterweight champion, wants 147.
O'Malley is focused on his UFC title. He is pushing for a rematch with bantamweight champion Petr Yan after Yan beat Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 333 on October 24. The UFC has not yet named Yan's next challenger. O'Malley is under UFC contract, and any boxing match would need the promotion's approval. Nothing points to talks between the UFC and Davis' side.
What's next
No bout, date or promoter has been attached to O'Malley vs Davis. Any real movement would need a statement from either fighter's team or the UFC. POP MMA will update this story if that happens.
