Quillan Salkilld vs Benoit Saint Denis set to headline UFC Sydney in February
It's official: Australian Quillan Salkilld, 6-0 in the UFC, meets No. 6 lightweight Benoit Saint Denis in the UFC Sydney main event at Afterpay Arena in February.

Quillan Salkilld vs Benoit Saint Denis will headline UFC Fight Night Sydney, the UFC announced on X at 23:00 UTC on October 27. The lightweight main event takes place at Afterpay Arena (formerly Qudos Bank Arena) at Sydney Olympic Park, Australia, on Sunday, February 7, 2027 local time, which is Saturday, February 6 in the United States, and will stream live on Paramount+.
"HIGH STAKES DOWN UNDER," the promotion wrote while confirming the fight and opening registration for ticket presale access.
The matchup pairs two of the division's most dangerous finishers. Saint Denis is ranked No. 6 and Salkilld No. 7 at 155 pounds in the UFC's official rankings, so the winner should come out of February firmly in the top-five conversation.
Salkilld gets the home headliner he asked for
The booking delivers on a tease from the 26-year-old Australian. On October 11 Salkilld posted "Reporting for duty #feb" on X, which Sherdog read as a target of the February Sydney card. At the time no fight had been booked.
Salkilld (13-1), from Pinjarra and training at Luistro Combat Academy, lost his pro debut and has won 13 straight since. He earned his contract on Dana White's Contender Series in September 2024 and is 6-0 in the UFC, with five Fight Night bonuses in those six appearances, according to UFC.com. His UFC run:
- KO of Anshul Jubli in 19 seconds at UFC 312 (February 2025)
- Unanimous decision over Yanal Ashmouz at UFC 316 (June 2025)
- Head-kick KO of Nasrat Haqparast at 2:30 of round one at UFC 321 (October 2025)
- Neck-crank submission of Jamie Mullarkey at 3:02 of round one at UFC 325 in Sydney (January 2026)
- TKO of Beneil Dariush at 3:29 of round one in Perth (May 2026)
- Rear-naked choke of Mateusz Gamrot at 4:25 of round one in his first UFC main event in Las Vegas (August 8, 2026)
That is four straight first-round finishes. Sydney will be his second UFC headliner.
Saint Denis looks to bounce back
Saint Denis (17-4), a 30-year-old from Nimes, France, who trains at Venum Training Camp in Paris, served five years in the French special forces, which is where his "God of War" nickname comes from. All 17 of his wins have come by finish: six by knockout and 11 by submission.
The Frenchman comes into the fight off a loss. Paddy Pimblett submitted him with a D'Arce choke 52 seconds into the UFC 329 co-main event on July 11. Before that he had won four in a row, including a 16-second knockout of Beneil Dariush at UFC 322 and a second-round TKO of Dan Hooker at UFC 325. That second win came at the same Sydney arena, on the same card where Salkilld beat Mullarkey. His other UFC losses came against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.
The two have one common opponent: both finished Dariush in the first round.
