Marwan Rahiki vs JooSang Yoo is now an official UFC Sydney booking. The UFC Australia & New Zealand account posted the featherweight pairing on November 4, 2026, upgrading a November 1 MMA Junkie report that had relied on anonymous sources because the promotion had not yet listed the fight.

In the same announcement, UFC_AUSNZ also added Kaan Ofli vs Joanderson Brito to the February card at Afterpay Arena in Sydney.

From report to official listing

MMA Junkie's Matt Erickson, Nolan King and Farah Hannoun first reported Rahiki vs Yoo on November 1, citing people with knowledge of the matchup who asked to remain anonymous pending a formal announcement. On November 4, @UFC_AUSNZ posted: "Added to #UFCSydney" with both Rahiki vs Yoo and Ofli vs Brito, accompanied by promotional graphics.

South Korea's Herald Business covered the same development the same day, framing it as Yoo's path back toward a second UFC win after a two-fight skid. A Korean MMA outlet separately noted that the main UFC.com event page undercard listing had not yet reflected the names even after the regional account's post — a common lag when regional social graphics move ahead of the global event page.

Bounce-back stakes for both featherweights

Rahiki (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC per MMA Junkie) trains in Sydney after moving from Morocco and entered the promotion via Dana White's Contender Series. He opened his UFC run with finishes of Harry Hardwick and Ollie Schmid, then suffered the first loss of his pro career — a unanimous decision to Tommy McMillen in September that still earned Fight of the Night.

Yoo (9-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC), billed as "Zombie Jr." on the UFC_AUSNZ graphic, debuted with a 28-second knockout of Jeka Saragih at UFC 316 and earned a Performance of the Night bonus. He then lost by knockout to Daniel Santos and dropped a split decision to Michael Aswell Jr. at UFC 331 in September. Herald Business stressed that another loss would put him at serious risk of a roster cut.

Both men are primarily strikers. MMA Junkie noted that Rahiki had never gone to the scorecards before McMillen; Yoo mixes knockouts, decisions and a submission across his nine wins.

Sydney card context

UFC Fight Night Sydney is set for Sunday, February 7, 2027 local time (February 6 on U.S. listings) at Afterpay Arena, the first Fight Night in the city since 2017 according to UFC.com. The lightweight main event is Quillan Salkilld vs Benoit Saint Denis, with Robert Whittaker vs Bogdan Guskov co-headlining — both already covered separately on POP MMA.

Rahiki's home-base assignment and Yoo's need to snap a skid give the new undercard bout clear stakes. With the UFC Australia & New Zealand account now listing it publicly, the pairing is no longer report-only.
