Jasmine Jasudavicius says Manitoba commission fined her $10,000 over alleged dip at UFC Winnipeg
Jasmine Jasudavicius says she was fined $10,000 after officials thought she had chewing tobacco in her mouth during her UFC Winnipeg win. She insists it was peppermint gum.

UFC women's flyweight contender Jasmine Jasudavicius says the Manitoba Combative Sports Commission fined her $10,000 after officials believed she had dip (chewing tobacco) in her mouth during her win over Karine Silva at UFC Winnipeg in April. The Canadian says it was actually gum.
Jasudavicius told the story to Full Send MMA ahead of her co-main event against Erin Blanchfield at UFC Fight Night in Edmonton this Saturday, October 17. MMA Fighting reported her comments on Wednesday.
"That last frickin' card I got fined because everyone thought I had a dip in my mouth," Jasudavicius said. "I had gum. They charged me frickin' $10,000. The Manitoba commission, man. They actually charged me. Check my frickin' bank account. I was so frustrated."
The commission has not commented publicly on the fine, and its amount and reasoning come from Jasudavicius' own account. According to MMA Fighting, cameras appeared to catch something in her mouth during the fight. She still received both her show and win money for the bout.
'Go get it'
Jasudavicius said the commission could have settled the question easily, because the gum fell out of her mouth onto the canvas during the fight.
"I told them," she said. "I said, 'Hey, it fell out on the mat. Go get it.' He's like, 'Well, we wouldn't do that.' I was like, 'That's the evidence. Go get it if you can check. Peppermint gum, go check it and test, do whatever the hell you want with it.'"
Jasudavicius did not say whether she appealed the fine.
The fight in question
The incident happened at UFC Fight Night: Burns vs Malott at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg on April 18, 2026. Jasudavicius opened the main card by beating Brazil's Karine Silva by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28), according to UFC.com's official scorecards.
UFC.com's recap says Silva caused her problems early, attacking with a triangle choke from her back in the first round. Jasudavicius then took over from top position in the last two rounds. The win got her back on track after a one-sided loss to Manon Fiorot in Vancouver in October 2025, and MMA Fighting notes it made six wins in her last seven fights.
Next up: Blanchfield in Edmonton
Jasudavicius returns to Canada this weekend to face Erin Blanchfield in the co-main event at Rogers Place, under the Joaquin Buckley vs Mike Malott headliner. Blanchfield has said a win would make her the No. 1 contender for champion Natalia Silva. According to MMA Fighting, a win for Jasudavicius could also put the Ontario native in line for a flyweight title shot in 2027.
She says she has already dealt with one possible distraction before Saturday.
"I've stopped chewing gum now," Jasudavicius said.
