Dominick Reyes calls Daniel Cormier a 'low IQ hater' after UFC 333 knockout, Cormier tells him 'just stop'
Hours after his first-round KO of Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 333, Dominick Reyes went after commentator Daniel Cormier on X, accusing him of bias. Cormier replied: 'Just stop! Seriously.'

Dominick Reyes followed one of the best wins of his career with an angry social media attack on UFC commentator Daniel Cormier. Hours after knocking out Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Reyes accused the former two-division champion on X of bias and poor research. Cormier replied publicly and asked him to stop.
The win that came first
Reyes beat Murzakanov by KO (head kick and punches) at 2:40 of Round 1 in the last preliminary bout at Etihad Arena, according to UFC.com. Murzakanov had just landed a clean left hand. When they reset, Reyes clipped him with a high kick, followed up and finished the fight. MMA Junkie lists Reyes at 17-5 (11-5 UFC). UFC.com notes he has now won five of his last six fights, four of them by stoppage.
In his Octagon interview, which Cormier conducted, Reyes named his next targets. "I like No. 3 or No. 4 – that's Paulo (Costa) and Khalil (Rountree)," he said, as quoted by MMA Junkie. "Let's get after it, baby." Neither fight has been booked.
'Low IQ hater'
The mood had changed by the time Reyes boarded his flight home. "Real talk, who actually likes hearing low iq hater ass DC?!" he wrote on X. Then he added: "I have a long flight let's get some truths going!"
Over the next hour Reyes posted a string of messages aimed at Cormier:
- "Sick of being the nice guy while these clowns flat out disrespect and marginalize what I've done in this sport. These so called 'experts'."
- "And no Jon jones didn't whoop all of us, he whooped you! Bad! Multiple times. Kid"
- "Calling me kid, Mf I'm a grown ass man!"
- "We're at the point where we applaud dc for knowing basic grappling moves."
- Tagging Dominick Cruz: "Was right all along."
Cormier responds
Cormier answered on X. "Yo dom chill. I don't call you kid negatively. I've only spoke truth to you. When you do some amazing shit like you did today I praise you. If you do something like the last fight with Johnny, I speak The Truth about that too," he wrote.
Reyes then went further. "My name is Dominick not Kid. Yeah I heard your commentary tonight on my fight," he wrote. He claimed that Paul Felder had "called you out for your clear bias" during the broadcast. He added: "Your 'expert' commentary sways the opinions of average fans, and that has a profound effect on our lives. Your clear bias towards fighters from the caucus region is frustrating, especially being an American fighter." POP MMA has not independently checked the broadcast exchange Reyes described.
Cormier tried to calm things down again. "You're tripping bud and honestly I'll just find you for a conversation. I actually like you. I told your team how amazing you looked tonight this may have been your best performance. But this is insane. Just stop! Seriously," he wrote.
Reyes replied: "I'm not your buddy guy. But seriously, I don't care if you like me, truly. I only care that you have unbiased well informed color commentary. I will stop now but not because you asked me to."
A calmer ending
A little later Reyes posted "To all the haters and doubters. With all do respect, f*** you," and then: "We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming." Next came a series of congratulations to Petr Yan, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovski, Aaron Pico and others on the card, plus a message to Murzakanov: "you are a heck of a competitor!"
His last post sounded more forgiving. "I've realized we are all out here doing our best. Commentary team included," Reyes wrote. "As long as we can say we gave it our best shot there is nothing to be ashamed of."
