According to a Page Six Hollywood report carried by MMA Junkie, Fightful, Awful Announcing and other outlets on November 3, 2026, Netflix is producing an untitled documentary centered on UFC CEO Dana White, with a release targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

Neither Netflix nor White has publicly confirmed a title or premiere date. The coverage treats the project as a Page Six report rather than an official announcement from the streamer or the UFC.

How the project started

Page Six reported that the film was greenlit by former Netflix content chief Bela Bajaria while the streamer was negotiating for UFC media rights. Those rights ultimately went to Paramount in a seven-year, $7.7 billion media-rights and streaming deal after the UFC left ESPN at the end of 2025. Production on the White documentary continued anyway.

The same report said the documentary began as a project about Las Vegas before evolving into a story about White, the 57-year-old promoter who helped persuade Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta to buy the UFC for $2 million in 2001 and later saw the company sold to an Endeavor-led group for $4 billion in 2016. White stayed on as president and was later named CEO.

Who is directing

Gotham Chopra is attached as director, according to Page Six and follow-up coverage. Chopra has previously produced major sports documentaries, including Tom Brady's "Man in the Arena" series, and has worked on projects involving LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Simone Biles. He is also a co-founder of Religion of Sports with Michael Strahan and Tom Brady.

Chopra declined to comment when Page Six reached him, MMA Junkie and Fightful noted. It remains unclear how much access filmmakers have had to White, or how deeply the film will address controversies from his career.

What the film may cover

Reports say the documentary is expected to examine the UFC's ownership history and White's role in turning the promotion into a global business. Material cited in the Page Six-driven coverage includes UFC Freedom 250, the card staged on the White House South Lawn earlier in 2026, and White's expansion into boxing through Zuffa Boxing alongside Turki Alalshikh.

Awful Announcing compared the reported development path to Netflix's earlier Vince McMahon series "Mr. McMahon," which arrived after the streamer secured WWE programming. Whether White has creative oversight of the reported Netflix project has not been clarified.

Timing and caveats

Bajaria left Netflix in October 2026 and was replaced by Peter Rice, prompting questions in secondary coverage about whether the leadership change could affect the release. If the reported first-quarter 2027 window holds, the documentary would land as White oversees the UFC's move onto Paramount and continues building Zuffa Boxing.

Until Netflix or White formally announce the project, the story remains attributed reporting from Page Six and the outlets that amplified it. No trailer, official title or confirmed premiere date has been released.
